Swindon is a town located in Wiltshire in the South West of England. It is half way between Bristol and Reading and lies 70 miles west of London. The population of Swindon is around 185,000 people. Swindon is famous for its Bodleian Library book depository which contains 153 miles of bookshelves. Swindon has around 53 primary schools, 11 secondary schools and two sixth form colleges. These secondary schools include Commonweal School, Churchfield Academy, Swindon Academy and Highworth Warneford School. Further education establishments in the town includes New College and Swindon College. Swindon College is one of the largest further education establishments in the south west of England. Swindon is home to Include which is a foundation learning program for 16-19 year olds who are not in work or education. Swindon is the largest population without its own university. A University Technical College however, opened in Swindon in 2014. Oxford Brookes University has their Ferndale Campus, which focuses on health and social care programs, located in the north-central of Swindon.
