Praxis Framework Bridging Course Overview

This engaging three-day Praxis Framework Bridging training course will build on knowledge acquired during the Praxis Framework Foundation course. The Bridging section focuses more extensively on the practical implementation of Praxis Framework within an organisation, thus it is perfect for delegates who are looking to apply their understanding in a hands-on manner.

Praxis Framework Bridging will begin with a revision of what was covered in the Praxis framework™ Foundation course, to refresh delegate’s knowledge of the four core elements, Knowledge, Method, Competence, and Capability Maturity. This review will provide delegates with a strong starting point with which to develop their knowledge. Following this, the tailoring of Praxis Framework to organisations will be a sufficient area of focus, as delegates will gain an understanding of how to adapt the Praxis framework to their own business.

As well as this, Praxis Bridging will explore the roles and responsibilities of the Project Manager, Programme Manager, and Portfolio Manager. When merging all three, the P3 Manager is born, and hence will be studied during this section.

Praxis Framework links effectively to other notable Project and Programme Management frameworks, namely PRINCE2® and MSP®. This is due to the fact that all three methodologies are based on a life cycle, which passes through multiple phases, hence this will also be a subject of focus during Praxis Framework Bridging. Delegates will learn how they can gain and benefit from using Praxis in conjunction with alternative Project Management structures.

Finally, the relationship between the four core Praxis elements, (Knowledge, Method, Competence, and Capability Maturity) will be examined, whereby delegates will acquire an understanding of how the concepts correlate and correspond to each other.

Praxis Framework Bridging Exam: 

The Praxis Framework Bridging examination is intended to address the knowledge and skills that demonstrate proficiency in the Praxis Framework P3 management framework functions and processes.

• 4 Scenario-based Questions - Total of 20 Marks per question
• Duration of 2.5 Hours
• To pass the exam you will require 40+ Marks from all questions (50%)

Praxis Framework Examination

The Praxis Framework exams must be completed online and must be registered 30 days from the end of the classroom training course

Mapping of the Praxis syllabus topics demonstrates a broader P3 knowledge and understanding is required than that of PRINCE2®, MSP® and IPMA Level D or equivalent (e.g. APM PMQ).

For candidates who currently hold a Foundation certification in PRINCE2 or MSP, or IPMA Level D or equivalent, and wish to gain Praxis Practitioner certification, additional knowledge and understanding is required in a broad range of subjects. The coverage of syllabus topics varies greatly between these P3 products. In some cases:

• All of these products cover a topic in a similar way, e.g. risk management and organization management, but with slight differences in terminology and complexity.
• Syllabus topics are only covered by one or two of the products, e.g. PRINCE2 and MSP cover the P3 process but, for example, APM PMQ does not, APM PMQ covers interpersonal skills but PRINCE2 and MSP do not.
• Syllabus topics are not covered by any of the products, e.g. finance management and change management.

For candidates who currently hold a Foundation, Practitioner or Professional certification in PRINCE2, a Foundation, Practitioner or Advanced Practitioner in MSP, or IPMA Level D or equivalent, and wish to gain Praxis Framework Practitioner certification, additional knowledge and understanding is required. The Praxis Framework Bridging course is aimed at this audience. The Praxis Framework Bridging course is designed to fill the gap(s) in candidates understanding, which will vary depending on their certification, and explain the key difference and similarities, where they exist, between the Praxis framework and these P3 products.

Candidates that currently hold a Practitioner level certification will obviously have an advantage over those that currently hold a Foundation level certification. The duration of the Praxis Bridging course is 3 days, including time for the Practitioner exam to be sat.
