Six Sigma Examinations

To achieve a Six Sigma certification you must first pass the associated examination, that takes place on the final day of each training course. By passing the exams, it will indicate that you have a comprehensive understanding of the fundamentals of Six Sigma and have the capabilities to work as part of a quality improvement project at the belt level that you have qualified in.

Six Sigma Exam Format

Six Sigma Yellow Belt

The Six Sigma Yellow Belt exam consists of:

• 60 questions

• Multiple Choice

• 40/60 required to pass

Six Sigma Green Belt

The Six Sigma Green Belt course includes both the Yellow Belt exam and the Green Belt exam.

The Six Sigma Green Belt exam consists of:

• Open book

• 30 questions

• Multiple choice

• 2 hours

Six Sigma Black Belt

The Six Sigma Black Belt course includes three exams: Six Sigma Yellow Belt, Green Belt and Black Belt.

The Six Sigma Black Belt exam consists of:

• 100 questions

• Multiple choice

• 70% pass mark

Six Sigma Black Belt Upgrade

The Six Sigma Black Belt Upgrade course involves one exam that consists of:

• 100 questions

• Multiple choice

• 70% pass mark

Six Sigma Master Black Belt

The assessment for the Six Sigma Master Black Belt consists of:

• A set of exercises

• 110-question multiple choice exam

• Each of these components are worth 50%

How do I get my results?

After sitting your Six Sigma exam you will be informed after a period of 2-4 weeks of your exam result. You will be sent your certificate if you have passed or advised on what to do next if you have failed.
