Step 1: Save a new file in the notepad using a .tsv or .txt file extension format on any local directory.

Step 2: Open a new Excel spreadsheet on your system.

Step 3: Click on the Data tab present on the menu bar. Further click on From Text from the below panels.

Step 4: A dialogue box to select the required TSV file opens. Click on the TSV file named ‘Book1’ and click on Import.

Step 5: Immediately, a Text Import Wizard dialogue box opens. Always select Delimited, which will help to separate each field through commas or tabs. Click on Next.

Step 6: In the next step, tick the check box Tab only and finally, click on Next.

Step 7: Finally, in the third step, all the settings are generally the default. Click on Finish to see the output.

Convert TSV to Excel using an online converter

This technique to convert TSV to Excel involves an online converter, where the file in the .tsv extension is uploaded. To convert using this approach, the steps given below need to be followed:

Step 1: Open the link in any web browser.

Step 2: Click on browse to upload the TSV file available on your local directory into the server.

Step 3: Select the required TSV file to be converted, and finally, click on Open.
