How to Renew PRINCE2® Certification?

PeopleCert requires applicable PRINCE2® Certifications to be renewed every three years from their original certification date. There are three ways to keep your certification current: log Continuous Professional Development (CPD) points through PeopleCert Plus, achieve another certification within the same Product Suite, or retake and pass the same certification exam.

1) Log CPD Points Through PeopleCert Plus

You can renew your certification through PeopleCert's CPD programme. This requires maintaining an active PeopleCert Plus membership and logging 20 CPD points each year for three consecutive years. At least five CPD points per year must come from professional experience activities.

Do not leave CPD logging until the end of your renewal period. Record relevant activities as you complete them so it is easier to track your annual CPD progress and supporting evidence.

2) Take Another Certification Within the Same Product Suite

You can take another course and pass its exam within the same Product Suite before your renewal date. Achieving a new certification within the same Product Suite renews the certifications you already hold within that suite.

3) Retake the Same Certification Exam

You can also retake and pass the same certification exam. Passing it again renews the certification and updates its renewal date.
