Prerequisites

This course has no prerequisites, meaning anyone who is simply interested in obtaining a MoP® certification and entering a portfolio management career, can enrol on a MoP® Foundation training course with The Knowledge Academy.

This course is intensive in nature. Therefore, it is required for delegates to undertake around fifteen hours of pre-course reading. In addition, it is expected that delegates undertake a minimum of two hours of evening work each day. This homework will be assigned by the expert trainer and will supplement training.  

MoP® Foundation Course Overview

The Management of Portfolios (MoP)® training course provides delegates with a basic understanding of what Portfolio Management is and how it is used in practice. The MoP® approach to the management of change projects and programmes is covered in detail to ensure that delegates acquire a comprehensive understanding of MoP® and its uses within businesses. You'll learn about MoP® practice methods, approaches, and strategic change principles. The MoP® Foundation exam is included and is taken online.

Delegates will be trained to be able to deliver successful, cost-effective, and high-quality programmes and projects by ensuring effectual communication.

As this course is classified at the Beginner level, teaching is tailored to those who may have little prior knowledge of Portfolio Management. Our MoP® Foundation training course supplies delegates with a selection of principles, practices and techniques that are used to initiate or renew Portfolio Management within a business.

The MoP® methodology is taught in detail, to educate candidates in the basics of MoP®. The methodology provides a clear view of what is included within the portfolio, how much it is costing, the risks involved, objectives, progression, and the impact on the day-to-day running of the business.

These MoP® certifications are not valid for a set period of time and so will not expire.
Yes, those who pass their Foundation exam will receive a certificate approximately 2 weeks following the exam. The Practitioner or the combined Foundation and Practitioner exam certificates will be sent to candidates around 2 weeks after the results have been released.
The recommended book for both the Foundation and Practitioner training courses is the official MoP® Guide by AXELOS. This book can be used in the Practitioner exam as this is an Open Book exam. There is also another AXELOS guide which can supplement the information from the official MoP® Guide. This extra guide is specifically aimed at Senior Executives.
