Health and Safety defines a set of regulations and procedures that aim to prevent injury or accident in the workplace. In some circumstances, Health and Safety training is a legal obligation that every employer must abide by, and the appropriate training must be provided to the relevant employees.
Health and Safety Training is a mandatory and necessary education that is required in every organisation. Courses in Health and Safety aim to raise your awareness of safety in the workplace to predict, minimise, or eliminate risks.
The law requires employers to provide adequate instruction, information, training, and supervision of health and safety, in the workplace. This is based on the Health and Safety at Work etc Act 1974, which was then expanded to the Management of Health and Safety at Work Regulations 1999.
Health and Safety training does not just include potential physical risks in the workplace but also details hazardous materials, compounds, or substances that may be risk factors to subsequently developing the disease. Occupational health hazards are also addressed in aspects of Health and Safety training. Health and Safety training can be reasonably broad or narrowed and specific to a particular risk factor.
Training courses should be selected and tailored depending on a number of factors. Things to take into consideration are, for example, prior experience, current job role, capabilities, and that training does not exceed the current job role or capabilities.
This 1 day First Aid at Work course will prepare delegates to be able to successfully administer first aid when a colleague needs medical attention within the workplace. Throughout the course, candidates will learn about a variety of scenarios where first aid will need to be executed and how this should be completed safely. These scenarios include; CPR, choking, bleeding, identifying suspected spinal injuries, anaphylactic shock, managing diabetic issues, asthma, and administering aspirin. The course will be trainer-led and will be made up of theory, as well as practical role play. This will provide candidates with an interactive method of learning that will allow them to obtain all the necessary information they need to become a competent first aider. In addition, it will make the course engaging and enjoyable for the candidates.
The Manual Handling at Work course ensures that delegates are able to understand the fundamental risks and issues related to handling heavy objects.
