History of P3O

P3O® was founded by the Office of Government Commerce (OGC) on October 28th 2008 in an attempt to develop guidance on how to instigate a portfolio office that aligns projects with a business’s objectives.

 

In 2013, P3O® was updated to reflect the target audience of the guidance - focusing on smaller-level portfolio management offices. In addition, the update provides information on how to implement a portfolio office in incremental steps, to reflect the actual business implementations, using tools such as blueprints, vision plans etc.
