P3O® Foundation Examination Information

The purpose of the P3O Foundation certification is to confirm that you have sufficient knowledge and understanding of the P3O guidance to interact effectively with, or act as an informed member of, an office within a P3O model.

The P3O Foundation Exam format:

Question Type: Multiple choice
Total Questions: 70 Live questions, and five trial questions
Duration: 1 hour
Open Book: No, this is a Closed book exam
Pass Mark: The pass mark for this exam is 50% (35/70)
Pass Rate: The pass rate for this P3O Foundation exam is 98%

P3O® Practitioner Examination Information

The purpose of the Practitioner certification is to confirm whether you have achieved sufficient knowledge and understanding of the P3O guidance to design, implement, manage, or work within any component office of a P3O model.

The P3O Practitioner exam format:

Question Type: Objective testing
Total Questions: 4 questions, worth 20 marks each - 80 marks in total
Duration: 150 minutes
Open Book: Yes, the P3O® guide is allowed
Pass Mark: 50% (40 out of 80)

How long are P3O® certifications valid for?

P3O® certifications have different expiry information depending on the qualification type: a P3O® Foundation certification will never expire and is eternally valid. A P3O® Practitioner certification has an expiry date of 5 years - during this period, candidates are able to refer to themselves as a P3O® Registered Practitioner. A P3O® Re-registration course should be sat every 5 years to maintain registered status for a further cycle.
