Who should attend?
The course is aimed at those involved in desktop virtualization solutions, such as Architects, Consultants and Engineers.
Prerequisites
Before attending, you should have completed the courses CXD-102 Introduction to XenDesktop 7 and CXD-300 Deploying Citrix XenDesktop 7 Solutions, or have equivalent knowledge.
In addition, you should have the following knowledge:

Intermediate knowledge of Citrix Desktop Virtualization Components/Concepts

Basic understanding of project management and documentation best practices

Basic presentation skills

Windows Server Knowledge (Windows Server 2012) including Active Directory and DHCP

Basic Networking Knowledge

SQL Server - General understanding of databases, permissions, security, high availability

General understanding of physical and virtual storage, including NAS, SAN, SSD and CIFS

Familiarity with hypervisor technologies (XenServer, Hyper-V, or vSphere)
Designing App and Desktop Solutions with Citrix XenApp and XenDesktop Overview
This 3-day course provides the skills and knowledge needed to successfully assess and design a XenApp and/or XenDesktop virtualization solution based on the architectures a majority of Citrix customers implement. The course will also give you the opportunity to design for your organisation, with access to all of the tools and reference materials you need to support your work.
By the end of the course you will know how to:
- Identify the various components and communication protocols of the XenApp/XenDesktop architecture
- Apply architectural understanding to desktop virtualization solutions
- Conduct an organizational assessment focusing on business capabilities and requirements, applications, and users
- Design desktop virtualization solutions
- Verify and present design recommendations
- Troubleshoot desktop virtualization designs
