This four-day MoR practitioner course will teach the following:

Module One: Understand the purpose & principles of risk management.

  • Describe risk, risk management and why risk management it is used, including the difference and relationship between risks and issues.
  • Describe how risk management supports corporate governance and enterprise risk management and describe the relationship between them.
  • Explain the different risk management challenges that a product orientated organization faces.
  • Assess how risk management is affected by functional orientated and product orientated organizations.
  • Describe the purpose of principles and why they need to be applied in risk management.
    • Apply and analyse the principles:
      • Aligns with objectives.
      • Fits the context.
      • Engages stakeholders.
      • Provides clear guidance.
      • Informs decision-making.
      • Facilitates continual improvement.
      • Creates a supportive culture.
      • Achieves measurable value.

Module two: Understand how risk management applies within and across the 5 perspectives.

  • Explain the purpose of risk management in each of the 6 Perspectives.
  • Explain how and why the perspectives are integrated.
  • Analyse the calibration of qualitative scales across perspectives.
  • Apply the ‘strategic’ perspective (including enterprise agility) and its related practices and controls, including integrating risk management across perspectives, and the related roles.
  • Apply the ‘portfolio’ perspective (including portfolio balancing techniques) and its related practices and controls, including integrating risk management across perspectives, and the related roles.
  • Apply the ‘programme’ perspective (including incremental progression) and its related practices and controls, including integrating risk management across perspectives, and the related roles.
  • Apply the ‘project’ perspective and its related practices and controls, including integrating risk management across perspectives, and the related roles.
  • Describe how risk management is influenced by different modes of delivery (e.g. linear/sequential, iterative/Agile, hybrid, and continual improvement of operations).
  • Apply the ‘product’ perspective and its related practices and controls, including integrating risk management across perspectives, and the related roles.
  • Apply the ‘operational’ perspective and its related practices and controls, including integrating risk management across perspectives, and the related roles.

Module three: Understand how people and culture influence effective risk management.

MoR® 4 Practitioner Risk Managment Certification Exam Information

  • Material Allowed: Yes, this is an 'Open Book' examination. The Management of Risk 4th Edition publication is permitted. No other materials allowed.
  • Exam Duration: 2 hours and 15 minutes.
  • Number of Marks: 65 Marks. Each question has 3 questions items to be matched. There are 18 matching questions items.
  • Pass Mark: 33/65, 50% or higher.
  • Exam Format: Scenario from the manual & question booklet.
  • Question type: Standard Classic & Matching. The questions are all Multiple Choice.
