MoV® Foundation Exam Resit Outline

The outcome of the MoV Foundation exam is that candidates should be able to discuss and explain the following:

  • The main processes and techniques used within MoV and the reasons for using them
  • How MoV may be applied at portfolio, programme, project and operational levels
  • The differences in applying MoV at different stages in a project and the expected outputs from a MoV Study at each stage
  • The circumstances under which MoV should be used
  • The concept of value and how value may be improved
  • The main benefits arising from the use of MoV
  • Approaches for implementing MoV
  • How to respond to external and internal influences
  • The principles of embedding MoV into an organisation
  • The key topics in document check lists, the toolbox, health check, organizational maturity and individual competence

MOV Foundation Classroom Exam Information

Please arrive 30 minutes before the exam start time, unfortunately, late comers will not be permitted to enter the exam once it has commenced.

You will need to bring the following to the exam:

  • Photo ID (a passport or driving licence)
  • 2 pencils
  • Eraser
  • Sharpener 

MOV Foundation Online Exam Information

The exam is taken through a remote proctor, PeopleCert. You’ll be able to pick a date and time slot which is most convenient to you.

The system requirements for the exam are as follows:

  • Windows® 10, Windows® 8.1, Windows® 8, Windows® 7
  • Dual-core 2.4GHz CPU or faster with 2GB of RAM (recommended)
  • Active Full-Time/Broadband internet connection of 512/512 kbps (up/down)
  • 16-bit monitor (at least 15”) with screen resolution 1024 x 768 or higher
  • Speakers and microphone
  • Keyboard and mouse or another pointing device
  • A single web camera (embedded or external) you can rotate.

You will also need to present photo ID to verify your identity before the exam.

The MoV® Foundation Exam evaluates knowledge of the MoV® methodology, aiming to enhance value and optimise decision-making in organisations by maximising value while minimising waste and risks. The exam format is as follows: 

  • Question Type: Multiple Choice 
  • Total Questions: 50 (each question is worth 1 mark) 
  • Total Marks: 50 Marks  
  • Pass Marks: 50%, or 25/50 Marks 
  • Duration: 40 Minutes 
  • Open Book/Closed Book: Closed Book

Education is compulsory in most provinces up to the age of 16. Parents can choose between sending their children to one of the public schools or they can sent them to a fee paying private school. Those who live in Ottawa and find that picking a secondary school is a fraught decision involving school zones and ratings. There are four main public school boards in Ottawa. One is English, one is English-Catholic, and one is French and another is French-Catholic. The Ottawa-Carleton District School Board which is the largest with 147 schools to oversee. The catholic school board has 85 schools, the Conseil des écoles catholiques du Centre-Est has 49 schools and the Conseil des écoles publiques de l'Est de l'Ontario has 37 schools. Canada’s higher has a very good reputation. However there is no formal ranking system and students will often choose colleges and universities bases on geographic convenience and the reputation of a particular course. Ottawa is one of the best educates cities in Canada as it is believed that over half of the population have graduated from college or university. Ottawa has the highest per capita concentration of engineers, scientists, and residents with PhDs in Canada. The University of Ottawa was founded in 1848 and was the first higher education institute to be established in the city.  The university is a bilingual public university. The University of Ottawa is ranked in the top 300 universities in the world, coming in at number 284 and is a top 15 university in Canada.  The university has faculties in the following areas: arts, civil law, common law, education, engineering, post graduate studies, health sciences, medicine, science, social sciences and the school of management. Ottawa also has two main public colleges Algonquin College and La Cité collégiale. There are also 2 catholic universities in the city; Dominican University College and Saint Paul University.
