Calgary is located in the south of Alberta, Canada and has a population of around 1 million people, making it the largest city in Alberta and the third largest in Canada. Also in Calgary are Mount Royal University, SAI Polytechnic and Athabasca University, which provides distance education programs for students. There are a number of private universities as well, including Reeves College and Columbia College.
