The city of Fairfax is located in the state of Virginia in the Fairfax County. The city of Fairfax is approximately 16 miles south-west of Washington D.C. Virginia’s largest public research university the George Mason University is located in Fairfax. As of 2013 the university had around 34,000 students enrolled and nearly 3,000 academic staff members. The university is recognised for their strong programs in economics, law, creative writing, computer science, and business. Fair fax also has its own international school - Virginia International University, which offers programs in computer science, business management, international relations, public administration and education. The international university also has courses to teach English to speakers of other languages.
