Tempe is a city located in Arizona, within Maricopa County. Being named after the Vale of Tempe in Greece, the city is also known as Hayden’s Ferry. Tempe is also home to an estimated 172,816 people as of 2014. Tempe has a relatively high unemployment rate of 05.30% which has been decreased over the year by 0.60% from the year before when the unemployment rate was 05.90% whilst the average rate for Arizona cities is 6.0%. Schools within Tempe are mostly run by two districts which are the Tempe Union High School District which runs 5 high schools or the Tempe Elementary School District which runs 25 schools at elementary and middle level, however there is another 5 districts that also provide schools. The universities and colleges within Tempe are the Rio Salado Community College, Maricopa County Community College District and the Arizona State University, all three of which play a big part in the higher education. However there are a few other ones which include Brookline College, University of Phoenix and the Bryan University as well as a few others. Some of the universities and colleges are not main institutions with regards to some of them being satellite campuses or branches.
