Pupils conducting their schooling within the USA start off at preschool, followed by elementary school, then middle school, before finishing at high school. For example Central Piedmont Community College, Charlotte School of Law, Johnson C. Smith University and the University of North Carolina are all based in Charlotte. The University of North Carolina is the biggest in the city with 27,000 students.
