It is known as “The City of Oaks” because of how many oak trees are growing in the city. The Wake County Public School System operates most schools in Raleigh. There are a large number of further education facilities in Raleigh or in close proximity. These public universities include North Carolina State University and Wake Technical Community College. There are also private universities such as Shaw University and Skema Business Schools as well as The Medical Arts School. The unemployment rate in Raleigh is at 5%. This has generally stayed the same throughout the years.
