Louisville has a population of over 620,000 making it the largest city in Kentucky and the 30th highest populous in the United States. The city is famous for holding the Kentucky Derby and the University of Louisville which specialises in healthcare. Some of the best places to visit in Louisville are: Churchill Downs, Slugger Museum and Factory, as well as the Muhammad Ali Center.
Louisville hosts many diverse companies crossing many different business sectors however it is best known for its shipping and cargo industries. The city is also heavily involved in healthcare and medical sciences and is the home to many advancements in heart surgery (some of the first artificial heart transplants were conducted in Louisville), hand surgery as well as cancer treatments.
There are six universities in Louisville that offer four year courses, these are the University of Louisville, Bellarmine University, Boyce College, Spalding University, Sullivan University and Simmons College of Kentucky.
