The city of Fairfax is located in the state of Virginia in the Fairfax County. The city of Fairfax is approximately 16 miles south-west of Washington D.C. Fairfax was rated number 3 in the Forbes Magazines "Top 25 Places to Live Well". The current population of Fairfax stand at roughly 24,000 residents.
