Kansas City is the largest city in the state of Missouri. It has an estimated population of 460,000 people which makes it the 37th most populated city in the United States. It was founded in the 1830s as a Missouri River port at its confluence with the Kansas River coming in from the west. Education in the USA is provided by both public and private schools, and is mandatory until the age of 16.
