The University of Alaska Anchorage has around 20,000 students in attendance studying undergraduate, graduate and professional studies. The university is the largest institution in the state. Another university found in Anchorage is the Alaska Pacific University which is a liberal arts college that focuses primarily on Psychology and Environmental Studies. The university houses around 800 students and was established in 1957.
