Kochi, sometimes known as Cochin, is a large port city on the south west coast of India with a population of over 600,000 and an area of over 800 square kilometres. Its official languages are Malayalam and English. Kochi offers a number of excellent public and private schools, both primary and secondary. Kochi is also a hub for cosmopolitan tourism. It is able to boast a unique Keralite cuisine in addition to several shopping malls, museums and palaces.
