Taipei is located on the Taipei Basin within Taiwan, as the capital city of Taiwan it is also the centre of politics, culture and education. Taipei city or the city of Azaleas as it is otherwise known as is also home to an estimated 2,693,672 people. Taipei has a relatively low unemployment rate of 03.80%, whilst the average rate for Taiwan is 3.70%.Education within Taipei is very important as it has been home to a number of institutions which have educated many social and political leaders from the National Taiwan University, other universities and colleges include the National Taipei University of Education, Taipei Medical University, National Defense Medical Center, National Yang-Ming University and the Tamkang University as well as many more. There are also a number universities which prides themselves on the programs and degrees that they run such as the National Taiwan Normal University and their international education programs and humanities programs. The subjects, degrees and programs can vary depending on the institution.
