Dogana is the largest city in San Marino, and is situated in in the north-eastern corner of the country. It acts as an entry point for many travellers entering San Marino from Italy, and its name translates as ‘Customs House’. Dogana has a population of approximately 7,000 people. Dogana has an elementary school, the Scuola Elementare Dogana di San Marino, and is a mere twenty minute drive away from San Marino’s university, the University of the Republic of San Marino. Created in 1985, the University is organised into three departments, the Depaartment of Economics, Sciences and Law, the Department of Human Sciences, and the Department of History and of Sanmarinese Culture and History.
