With a population of over 540,000, Gothenburg is the second largest city in Sweden, and is located along Sweden’s West coast, near Kattegat. There are two universities in Gothenburg, the University of Gothenburg which has over 25,000 students and the Chalmers University of Technology renowned for its technological innovation and progress. There are around 50 high schools, and ten folk high schools in the city, and an international school called The International School of the Gothenburg Region. Notable residents from Gothenburg include the golfer Helen Alfredsson, the singer-songwriter Björn and the famous footballer Gunnar Gren. Gothenburg is also known for its many museums such as the Gothenburg Museum of Art and the Museum of World Culture. Other popular tourist attractions include the annual Gothenburg Film Festival, the Gothenburg Symphony Orchestra and the many colourful street fairs and markets.
