With a population of over 26,000, the city of Victoria is located on the north eastern side of the Mahe Island and is the capital city of Seychelles. The city has a close proximity to a large harbour and therefore tuna fishing and canning forms a large part of its local industry. The city is home to the University of Seychelles, which was founded in 2009. It is split into three campuses offering a wide variety of courses and qualifications, however it is especially known for its teaching in technology and business.
