Muscat is the largest city and the capital of Oman. It has an estimated population of 797,000 people. The unemployment rate of Oman did not change between 2010 and 2011 as it remained at 15 percent. Oman is home to 28 colleges and universities. One of these universities is the German University of Technology, a private university in Muscat.
