The Unitec Institute of Technology is the largest institute of technology in Auckland and has over 16,000 students. The Institute was established in 1976. The Manukau Institute of Technology was established in 1970 and houses over 25,000 students. The Manakau Institute of Technology offers students areas of study such as; Hospitality, Computing & IT, English Language, Engineering and Sport. The Manakau Institute of Technology has close connections with other institutes such as; University of Auckland, Te Wananga o Aotearoa and the Unitec Institute of Technology.
