The University of Macao is located in Taipa. It is a public comprehensive university and the leading higher education institute of the region. It was founded in 1981 which makes it the oldest university in Macao. Lessons are mainly taught in English although some are taught in Chinese and Japanese. The school has seven faculties including, arts, humanities, business, education, law and social sciences.
