Skopje is the biggest city and the capital city of Macedonia. It is the political, economic and cultural centre of the country. The unemployment rate in Macedonia has reduced recently to 26.8 percent at the end of 2015 from 27.32 at the beginning. The average rate between 1993 and 2015 was 31 percent with a record high of 37.3 percent in 2005. Recent trends are showing continuous decline in the unemployment rate. Nearly half of the students who choose the classic secondary route go to 1 of 2 universities in Macedonia; Saint Clement of Ohrid University and Saints Cyril and Methodius University. The largest and oldest being the Saint Cyril and Methodius University is located in the city. The school has a number of faculties including, math’s, philosophy, agriculture, medical science and architecture.
