Phnom Penh is the capital and the largest city in Cambodia. It is the nations centre of economic and industrial activities. There is an estimated population of 1.5 million people in Phnom Penh. The unemployment recently rose to 0.3 percent form 0.1 percent. The national average unemployment rate has been 1.2 for almost 20 years between 1994 and 2013. 0.1 was a record low for the country. There are a number of colleges and universities in the city as well as other higher education institutes. One of these is the Royal University of Phnom Penh Khmer, this is the largest and oldest higher education provider in all of Cambodia. It has around 10,000 students and 3 campuses. They have faculties in science, social science, humanities and foreign languages.
