Nairobi is the capital city of Kenya. It has a population of around 3.3 million people and is one of the most important and well known countries in the whole of Africa as it is a financial and political hub. Most schools in Nairobi follow either a British or Kenyan Curriculum. There are many universities in the city including The University of Nairobi which is the largest and oldest university in Kenya. It enrols around 84,000 students a year and provides a large number of programs and degrees in medicine, engineering, law and more. Other universities include Catholic University of Eastern Africa, KCA University and Kenyatta University. The two official languages of Kenya are English and Swahili. English is spoken by the vast majority in large cities and those connected with tourism or are educated. The unemployment rate of Kenya lies at around 21%. The rate of unemployment in Nairobi is slightly lower at a rate of 18.5%.
