Osaka is the capital city of Osaka Prefecture, Japan. It is in the Kansai region of the country and has a population of around 2.6 million people. The city operates public elementary and junior high schools while public high schools are operated by the Osaka City Board of Education. There are also a lot of universities in the city including Kansai University and Osaka City University. Osaka University of Economics is a private university established in 1932 and caters to around 6500 students every year. It provides undergraduate and graduate courses as well as evening classes. A small percentage of people in Japan speak fluent English, around 3%. English is taught in schools, however it is mostly just reading and writing skills.
