Osaka is the capital city of Osaka Prefecture, Japan. It is in the Kansai region of the country and has a population of around 2.6 million people. The city operates public elementary and junior high schools while public high schools are operated by the Osaka City Board of Education. There are also a lot of universities in the city including Kansai University and Osaka City University. However Osaka is quite crowded so many universities chose to move their campuses to the surrounding suburbs. Osaka is also home to The Japanese Academy of Family Medicine. Osaka University of Economics is a private university established in 1932 and caters to around 6500 students every year. It provides undergraduate and graduate courses as well as evening classes. A small percentage of people in Japan speak fluent English, around 3%. English is taught in schools, however it is mostly just reading and writing skills. The unemployment rate in Japan runs at about 3.4%. The unemployment rate in Osaka runs slightly higher rate at 7.2%.
