The university has more than 20,000 students, with numerous faculties such as law and economics, medicine and pharmacy, administration and management, science and topography, and agronomy and veterinary. Port-au-Prince also has other educational institutions including vocational schools and international schools like Union School, founded in 1919, which is an American-style pre-college education. The Ministry of Education can also be located in Port-au-Prince at the Palace of Ministries.
