Port-au-Prince is the capital city of Haiti and the largest city of the Caribbean country. The university was established in the 1820s, has come under the control of the government. The university has more than 20,000 students, with numerous faculties such as law and economics, medicine and pharmacy, administration and management, science and topography, and agronomy and veterinary. Port-au-Prince also has other educational institutions including vocational schools and international schools like Union School, founded in 1919, which is an American-style pre-college education. The Ministry of Education can also be located in Port-au-Prince at the Palace of Ministries.
