Toulouse is a city based in the Midi-Pyrénées region of France. It is estimated that the current population of Toulouse is somewhere around the 461,000 mark, which is spread over 45.7 square miles of land. Toulouse’s economy is mostly comprised of technical industries; specific examples include the aeronautics, space, electronics, and information technology and biotechnology industry, to name a few. Education in France is a highly organised system that branches out into a large number of subdivisions; the three main categories are as follows: primary, secondary, higher, ‘licence’ & ‘licence professionelle’ (bachelor’s degree), ‘master’ (master’s degree), and ‘doctorat’ (a doctorate’s degree). In France, university names are most commonly derived from city names near to the location of the establishment; for example, Paris retains a total of thirteen universities and these are all named from ‘Paris I’ through to ‘Paris XIII’.
