Tallinn is the capital city of Estonia and the largest city in the country. The city has an estimated population of around 440,000 people. The town is listed as a UNESCO world heritage site. The unemployment rate of Estonia increased slightly between the first and second quarter of the year 2015 from 6.2 percent to 6.5 percent. Between 1989 and 2015 the rate of unemployment averaged around 8.5 percent. In 2010 it reached an all-time high of 20 percent and in 1989 the rate was the lowest ever seen in Estonia of 0.5 percent. Tallinn University is one of the largest university’s in Estonia. It is acknowledged both locally and internationally for its role as a centre for science and education.
