Santo Domingo is the capital city of the Dominican Republic and the biggest city in the country. It has an estimated population of around 965,000 people. There are eighteen universities in Santo Domingo. The Universidad Autónoma de Santo Domingo is the only public university in the city. It has four schools of teaching; Medicine, Law, Theology, and the Arts.
