Gaborone is situated in the south-western corner of Botswana on the Notwana River. Gaborone has private and public schools including Westwood International School, Maru-a-Pula School and Legae Academy.Gaborone is home to The University of Botswana with over 15,000 students and 2,000 staff members. The university has six faculties including education, engineering, humanities and social sciences. The university has a collaboration with the University of Melbourne.
