Nassau is home to the Nassau Public Library which is the largest library and museum in Bahamas. There are four other libraries in the Bahamas. Nassau Public Library was the first building built in Parliament Square and converted into a library in 1873. It was originally a colonial jail which housed a small amount of prisoners. It now showcases the host of services and technological advancements the Bahamas has achieved over the years.
