Cotonou has a population of around 762,000 people and is the largest city and economic centre of Benin. Benin’s employment rates are at a maximum of 1.5% in 2013. French is the main language spoken in Benin as well as Lebanese and Indian. Cotonou has a couple of universities such as the Estam University which offers students a three year course in National Youth Corp Services Nigeria. Another university in Cotonou is the International University of Management and Administration Benin. The university offers various courses to students, such as Accounting, Nursing, Marketing, Law and Psychology. The university aims to give high level training to young high school diploma holders. The West African Union University is a private university in Cotonou and was established in 2014. The university has around 50 students and around 400 distance learners.
