What is Organisation Breakdown Structure (OBS)?
Organisation Breakdown Structure (OBS) is a hierarchical model that explains the established organisational framework for project planning, cost allocation, time and expense tracking, revenue/profit reporting, resource management, and task management. The Work Breakdown Structure (WBS) organises all parts of a project in an organised manner. WBS breaks down huge, complicated projects into smaller pieces for organising and managing existing and future projects.
WBS simplifies resource allocation, project control of billing and cost, work assignment. The WBS is used to establish scope, identify cost centres, and the starting point for producing project plans/Gantt charts at the initial stage of a project.
