History of NLP

NLP was formed by combining the linguistic skills of John Grinder and the creativity of Richar Bandler top model and analyse the success of Virginia Satir and Fritz Perls. Bandler and Grinder began to work together to develop a behavioural syntax for gestalt therapy i.e. what skills and techniques would help a person overcome a problem. Out of this search came many of the techniques and methods that are still part of NLP Practitioner and NLP Master Practitioner trainings now. These include techniques such as anchoring, sensory acuity and calibration, reframing, representational systems and personal techniques such as Change Personal History. It became apparent that the most effective communicators seemed able to create therapeutic magic by their skilled use of language. The language sequences that arose from this work became the Meta Model.
