MSP® Training FAQs

An MSP® (Managing Successful Programmes) Course is a training course that provides attendees with an understanding of best practices in programme management. It is designed to help professionals effectively manage and deliver complex programmes that bring about strategic change and add value to their organisations.
The MSP® Qualification comprises three progressive levels, which are the foundation, practitioner, and advanced practitioner level.
To obtain an MSP® Certificate, one must first undergo formal training with courses like The Knowledge Academy’s MSP® Foundation & Practitioner and then pass the corresponding certification exam. Starting with the Foundation level, progressing through Practitioner, and for those deeply involved in MSP® methodology, the Advanced Practitioner level, each stage requires studying the MSP® framework and demonstrating a clear understanding of programme management principles.
MSP® is focused on programme management, which means it is designed to manage a portfolio of projects and initiatives that align with strategic organisational goals. On the other hand, PRINCE2 is tailored to project management on an individual project level, providing a step-by-step process for planning, executing, and delivering project-specific outcomes.
An MSP® Programme Manager is responsible for overseeing the successful delivery of a programme's output and outcomes, which involves coordinating multiple related projects to achieve strategic objectives.
The salary for professionals with an MSP® Certification can vary widely depending on factors such as the individual's level of experience, the complexity of the programmes they manage, their location, and the industry in which they work. On average, Programme Managers with MSP® Certifications can expect to earn a higher salary than those without it, reflecting the value of this qualification in the job market.
We recommend taking a look at the following book to aid your understanding of MSP® and support your learning experience with us: Managing Successful Programmes by Rod Sowden & Cabinet Office.
We offer MSP® Training Courses in locations all over the world, making it easy to find a training venue near you!
The Foundation qualification will not expire; however the Practitioner certificate has an expiry date so you must re-register for an examination 3-5 years after your initial certification.
Delegates who have passed an MSP® Practitioner exam can add ‘MSP® Practitioner’ to their business cards, CV, and LinkedIn profile.
Before commencing your MSP® Training Courses, you can expect to receive a digital delegate pack that comprises essential materials to support your learning experience. Apart from the digital delegate pack, The Knowledge Academy offers multiple Resources like informative blogs, news pieces, and more to help delegates navigate through their training journey effectively.
