M_o_R® Courses

The Knowledge Academy’s M_o_R® training courses are accredited by AXELOS. M_o_R® has a two tiers structure, the first tier being the M_o_R® Foundation course and the second tier being the M_o_R® Practitioner course.

We advise that the candidate becomes acquainted with the the M_o_R® manual ‘Management of Risk: Guidance for Practitioners’, in order to begin the training with a basic understanding of the concepts and terms used in the training course. This will enable the candidate to get the most out of the M_o_R® certification. In addition, the candidates will be expected to undertake a minimum of two hours of evening work for each day of the course.

The M_o_R® training courses can either be completed individually, or together. The M_o_R® Foundation certification consists of a three day course, with the examination being completed on the final day of the course. The M_o_R® Practitioner certification consists of a two day course, with the examination also on the final day of the course.

Alternatively, the two courses can be completed together in the form of a five day course, with the Foundation exam taking place at the end of the third day and the Practitioner exam taking place at the end of the fifth day of the course. Our trainers will use an interactive and engaging technique to teach the content of the course and ensure that candidates pick up the skills and knowledge which are required to effectively practice M_o_R®.

In addition to the original courses, in order to keep the M_o_R® Practitioner certification valid, every 3-5 years candidates must complete the Re-Registration examination. The examination can be taken separately, or it can be taken along with a training course depending on the individual's needs.

The M_o_R® Foundation certification ensures that the candidates have a good understanding of the M_o_R® framework and are capable of putting it into place in the diagnosis, analysis, and management of risks across the organisation. The M_o_R® Foundation course is a good basis for individuals who contribute to decision making within a business to have.

The M_o_R® Practitioner certification aims to build on the knowledge and skills that candidates developed on the Foundation course. The M_o_R® Practitioner course determines whether the candidate is able to use the M_o_R® methodology and apply it to everyday scenarios.
