While we can’t offer a foolproof guide to passing your PMQ exam, we can offer the following tips:
- Remember that you only need to answer 10 questions from 16, so prioritise the questions that you definitely know the answer to
- Keep an eye on the time – you have three hours, and each question is equally weighted, so you should try and spend a similar amount of time on each question
- Relate what you learn to how your organisation functions to help you remember and understand
- However, in the exam, remember that the examiner doesn’t know your industry, so answer in broad terms
- Consider purchasing the official APM Project Management Qualification Study Guide, which has been specifically created by APM and a training provider to provide practical advice and tips on passing the PMQ exam
- Holding the APM Project Fundamentals Qualification will also help you prior to studying, as it introduces some of the concepts covered in the APM PMQ syllabus
- Remember, if you’re a PRINCE2® Practitioner, you will know some of PMQ already, allowing you to sit a shorter exam
