M_o_R In Hand Is Worth The Wild Goose Chase!

A famous personality had once mentioned that, “Nations are built by men who take risks, pioneers who were not afraid of the wilderness, Businessmen who were not afraid of failure, scientists who were not afraid of the truth, Thinkers who were not afraid of action’.  In simple words one cannot refuse to eat just because there is a chance of being choked.   Why are human beings so afraid to venture into something which is unknown, unexplored, untouched?  Most of the time it is the fear of rejection and failure that makes cowards of us all.  Do you think the great explorer Christopher Columbus would have discovered America if he had been scared of the vast expanse of unexplored seas?   We would have to perhaps wait for many more years to bridge the gap between countries had the Wright brothers not invented the airplane.  Not much light could have been shed on the topography of the moon had Neil Armstrong mooned around and not set the first step on the moon.

A ship in harbour is safe- but that is not what ships are made for.  Quite a few people are afraid to break free of their comfort zone.  We enjoy our security and often lack the guts to take a risk.  Our limited knowledge about things prevents us from growing or moving forward.  Growth comes from moving and taking a risk.  A person may avoid suffering, sorrow and fear of failure, but he simply cannot learn, feel, change, grow, love and live.  Never be afraid to try something new.  Don’t we go to a new eating joint offering a different eating experience? Are we scared that we might end up with a tummy upset or get food poisoning?  It is not because things are difficult that we do not dare, it is because we do not dare that they are difficult.

You may now wonder where M_o_R comes into all this.  M_o_R is a strong yet flexible framework that allows organisations to assess risk, whether positive or negative, and which may have an impact on the business objectives of a particular organisation.  M-O-R includes topics like; Business continuity management, security, project risk management and operational service management.  M_o_R can change the wild goose chase into a sensible and structured goose chase, after the individual gets trained in the M-O-R approach.

Standard M_o_R courses are at three levels: Overview, Foundation and Practitioner.  The managers who are new to formal risk management methods, including senior managers and executives who are contemplating on having M_o_R training introduced into their organisations can take the Overview course, and the ones who are involved in risk management in a supporting role can take up the M_o_R Foundation course. The M_o_R Practitioner course is for anyone requiring an in depth knowledge of the same.   The training courses are recognised by the APMG and are conducted by highly experienced and qualified instructors, and with a high delegate pass rate.

What M_o_R do you want?  A goose in hand is worth two in the wilderness!
