APM Introductory Certificate

Duration: 2 Days

The APM Introductory Certificate offers an insight into this exciting and challenging discipline and has been developed by the APM and The Department for Education and Skills.  It has been designed for anyone looking to start a successful career in Project Management or those wanting to understand the principles of Project Management excellence.

Pre-requisites

No prior knowledge or experience in Project Management is required for this certificate. 

What is Assessed

Assessment will be through a 60 question multiple choice examination taken over 1 hour.
The Assessment will cover the principles of Project Management including:-

  • Quality Management
  • Teamwork
  • Resource Management
  • Risk Management
  • Issue Management
  • Handover
  • Reviews

Format

During the syndicate activities delegates will produce various documents required to plan, monitor and control any project.  They will have ample opportunity to discuss their findings, their understanding of the processes and their approach to Project Management. Throughout the workshop additional information will be given to ensure syndicates cover the objectives of each session. Individual exercises will also be used to consolidate subjects taught

Successful candidates will be able to understand the language of Project Management and the structure of a successful project.  They will be able to take an active part in a project team and make a positive contribution to any project environment.
